 A Perfect Setting

 An abundance of flowers are filling the gardens, Roses are blooming and the gardens are looking beautiful- what a perfect time for a wedding! Traditionally the summer season has always been a popular time to get married, and this year is no exception. With the emerging sunshine many couples find the perfect setting for their special day amidst the greenery and beautiful flowers. The Mill Hotel, located amongst acres of landscaped gardens, is the perfect venue for a summer wedding. Imagine the scene - attractive gardens with a picturesque bridge across the pool leading to the flower - filled Gazebo. Fountains and a waterfall ensure a perfect setting for those precious photographs.

Throughout the winter and spring we have been blessed with an exceptionally high number of Civil Ceremonies and Wedding Receptions.  Winter and Christmas weddings are becoming increasingly popular which may be due to the desire for long distance honeymoon destinations which enjoy the best climate during our winter months. The Mill Hotel has a warm and relaxing ambience, perfect for a winter wedding.  Last year's elegant Christmas decorations have provided couples with the perfect backdrop for those precious wedding photographs.

Civil Ceremonies

Shropshire County Council have advised us of two very important changes to their policy in respect of Civil Marriages Ceremonies at The Mill Hotel and we are delighted to announce that we are now able to accept bookings for Ceremonies on Bank Holidays.  We can now offer this service every day of the year (except Christmas Day and Good Friday).  We can even accept bookings for Boxing Day and New Years Day.  It is also now possible to hold the ceremony as late as 5.00 pm (previously 4.00 pm).

NEW LAW - 21ST DECEMBER 2005

On December 21st 2005 a new law came into effect allowing gay people the same rights as married couples.  From this time we are pleased to be able to offer The Mill Hotel as the venue for Civil Partnership Ceremonies.  Every assistance will be readily given to ensure your day is absolutely perfect for you, your family and your friends.  Should you wish to discuss your plans in more detail please do not hesitate to call.

UPDATE - We are delighted to say that we held more Civil Partnership Ceremonies than expected in the first year and the bookings remain strong. 

NON-STATUTORY CEREMONIES

The above new arrangements will also apply to non-statutory ceremonies.

Other Ceremonies

We are pleased to announce that the following ceremonies can be provided by the Shropshire Registration Service and held in a Suite of your choice at The Mill Hotel

RE-AFFIRMATION OF MARRIAGE VOWS These ceremonies are often associated with significant occasions, such as a special anniversary, and can also be relevant where a relationship has been through a particularly stressful period and the couple wish to renew their commitment to each other

CIVIL NAMING CEREMONIES  This ceremony offers the opportunity for all parents to celebrate the birth and naming of their child.

COMMITMENT CEREMONIES  This ceremony offers Adult couples the opportunity to make a public declaration of their love and life long commitment to each other.

CITIZENSHIP CEREMONIES  As you may know,  before British Nationality can be granted, each applicant has to take part in a Citizenship Ceremony.  During this ceremony each applicant is required to swear or affirm allegiance to the Queen and pledge to be a good Citizen of the United Kingdom.

Please note, the non-statutory ceremonies have no legal standing however it does provide an opportunity to commemorate a special occasion with family and friends.
